We all want the batteries of our mobile devices to have a huge capacity, we want them to last for days doing intensive terminal but it never seem enough. At the same time, we also want smartphones that are light and thin with a nice design, unfortunately we have not got those manufacturers who will invent endless batteries but while we wait you can catch a glimpse of this invention.

Since we have no batteries with enormous autonomy what better solution to invent a charger that can fill them as we walk. That is basically what makes SolePower, a template for shoes that can store the energy generated by our steps  to recharge smartphones and other gadgets.

Perhaps the idea of SolePower you sound, its creators turned to KickStarter platform for project funding in mid-2013 which successfully achieved the goal. Now, almost a year later the template goes ahead and won the annual award for inventions that organizes the magazine Popular Science.

Every stride of a hiker releases enough energy to light a bulb briefly. To use it, the engineer Matt Stanton created for 3 years with Alexander Hahna one removable footbed that includes inside the similar in flashlights crank mechanism.

SolePower of KickStarter to invention of the year

Of course, the goal is that the template could go through a conventional without being anything showy. SolePower is detachable and adaptable to any shoe and weighs less than 5 ounces (just under 140 grams) including the battery pack and charging system devices via a USB cable.

Its operation is based on a plate that converts the force of the blows heel footsteps and a mechanism for passing the rotor power coils. That electricity is accumulated in the removable battery housed in the cords until you have enough for a recharge via USB.

One idea applies to wearables or personal devices

The first version to the public, as those who bet on the Kickstarter project,it will hit later this year. Currently, the system requires at least a walk of 24 miles to complete a full load on a smartphone. Obviously a lot of distance but Matt says they are working to get it down to less than 5 miles with a duration of 100 million steps.

A good way to apply the energy created by ourselves during the day allowing us to charge your smartphone or tablet anywhere and not only that since the system could also be applied to other body parts. Imagine harnessing the movement of arms  for example, to load the next generation of smart watches and any other body or wearable device that emerge.
